The independent magazine for Nikon photographers N-Photo published two of my black and white pictures in the latest Black & White edition.
Lomonosov Moscow State University is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in Moscow. Whenever I have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place, this is exactly the place where I always have to find myself. It is difficult to describe the feeling, I think that simply you must experience it to know exactly what I mean.
Zaha Hadid Architects belong among the best architectural offices in the world. They participated on 950 projects in 44 countries of the world. Their latest project includes the campus of Vienna University of Economics and Business. The following article will be dedicated just to this project.
A week ago I returned already from the third holiday in Moscow. The first two visits were more sightseeing, this year however, I have focused mainly on shooting for me the most interesting places. One of the most beautiful architectural building in Moscow is the department store GUM.
In this article, we will see one of the techniques that I use every time I convert photographs from color to black and white. Don´t forget there are always more possibilities how to edit the picture, try to train your own imagination, don´t hurry with adjustments of photographs as soon as you came home from a trip, make the photo a soak in the head and then set to work. If you don´t know what I am talking about, see the article patience in black and white photography.
Do your photographs seem to have little contrast, appear flat, your black is not black enough or, on the contrary: your white literally shines? I have prepared this tutorial for those of you photographers, who are interested in moving their conversions into black and white to a higher level. I accidentally found this program right at the beginning when I discovered my passion for black and white photography and I’ve been using it ever since and I won’t say a bad word about it. You can also find a plug in version for Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture.
Whenever I’m planning to go on holiday or just for a short phototrip, I do a previous internet research about the area I’m visiting. I look up particular places that seem photogenic at first sight. I search via google (of course) and photographic websites. For instance, when I went to Bali, I opened a 500px site and wrote “tag” Bali into the browser and it showed me photographs from many photographers ordered directly from the best to the least popular ones. Some photographers even write a comment next to each photo which can also tell you something about the place. When you find the best photographs, check their complete profile, it is very probable that he/she has taken some more amazing photos of this destination and has found other interesting places. Do not hesitate to write them an e-mail and ask them for advice, communitacion is very important in photography. I am always happy, if someone asks me for any kind of advice, this means that people really like your work and that’s great! It actually means that you’re on the right track.
Last saturday I was first time presenting my best architecture photos at Fotozáhrada in Bratislava.
